Project #6: Play the Color Organ (Light)

This one went down as our favorite circuit out of all of them. We truly enjoyed this one. We began by constructing the circuit and expected the lights to turn on when we flipped the switch. To our dismay, the Color Organ did not explode with color as we had expected. Of course we assumed the worst, and automatically thought we had fried the circuit.

We realized we needed assistance so we called over Mr. Cantu. After looking at our circuit, and the manual, he pointed out to us that in order to get the Color Organ to work we had to moisten our hands and touch points on the Organ. We then realized that it pays to read.

Using the condensation from Mr. Cantu's cold water bottle, we dampened our fingertips and touched the Color Organ. To our delight, color finally lit up the LED attachment. The color changed based on which part of the Color Organ we touched. You could touch two at a time to create more colors, and if you touched all three at the same time it created white light.

This was definitely the most interesting project, and we were glad we had selected this project from the book. It was fun to play with the colors and watch the different color combinations.

Videos of the Final Product:

Watch our stomach's drop when we realize we messed up.

Then watch us finally figure it out and create a beautiful color show.
